Chronic illness is no fun. If you're here, you already know that.

I’m Julia, and I've been living with chronic illness for more than a decade. My doctors are fantastic, my husband is beyond supportive, my friends are helpful and delightful, and it is still a struggle to get through every single day. This site is here to share the rants, resources, reviews, and ruminations I've created in my time as an angry invalid.

Quick Exercises to Stretch Your Back

Quick Exercises to Stretch Your Back

My massage therapist (yes, I have to acknowledge that I am very lucky to be able to afford regular massages with an outstanding therapist, and I wish I could make that the case for everyone who reads here!) turned me on to this beautifully clear overview of some simple stretches that many people can do at home. I’ve found them really helpful, and wanted to pass them on to people for whom they might be useful.

Writer Rachel Lapidos has a number of other articles on WellandGood.com about stretches; this recommendation for a quick neck stretch is in line with what physical therapists have recommended to me through the years.

I’m not too likely to be trying horseback yoga anytime soon, though!

As always, be sure that whatever stretching exercises you try are in line with your doctors’ and physical therapists’ recommendations for your particular needs, and if it hurts, stop doing it.
