In today's Boston Globe, Felice Freyer writes about an innovative pain management program at the Spaulding Outpatient Center in Medford, Massachusetts. With a focus on functional restoration, the program combines physical and occupational therapy with group work and targeted exercise. The program has a long waiting list, but the hope is that other health providers will develop this kind of multifaceted approach to helping people living with chronic pain.
