Chronic illness is no fun. If you're here, you already know that.

World Travelers with Disabilities

Just thinking about traveling seems fantastic (in both senses of the word) for those of us whose lives are still restricted by the COVID-19 pandemic. If you’ve been dreaming of wandering the world, check out some recent episodes of the Travel & Leisure magazine podcast, Let’s Go Together.

Episode 16 features two travelers with mobility limitations who have visited destinations all around the planet. Cory Lee is living with spinal muscular atrophy, and uses a wheelchair; his Instagram, @curbfreecorylee, has some dream shots from his many journeys and some savvy advice about traveling as a wheelchair user. Hannah Gavios experienced a spinal injury and hikes, travels, and runs marathons using crutches. She’s also on Instagram @hannahgavios.

Have a listen to what Cory and Hannah talk about on Episode 16 of Let’s Go Together, available on the Travel and Leisure site, or wherever you find podcasts.

Episode 23 stars Nyle DiMarco, executive producer of Deaf U, the new Netflix reality series set at Gallaudet University. Nyle reflects on his experiences as a Deaf world traveler, and his discovery of the power of gestures. Nyle has some incredible highlights from his solo trip on his Instagram, @nyledimarco.
